Did you know that there are concerns of toxins for BOTH Artificial and Live Christmas Trees?
Artificial Tree Concerns
A study done showed that artificial trees, specifically PVC (polyvinyl chloride) use lead as a stabilizer, ultimately which can be a health concern for those most vulnerable, our children!
Now, the off-gassing emissions are worst when you first bring the tree into your home, so try to air it out. Also, be mindful of sweeping around the tree as you could be releasing lead particles into the air...
Live Tree Concerns
Organic Christmas Trees only make up 1% of sales, therefore your live tree likely has a combination of pesticides, fungicides and maybe even the dreaded glyphosate!
Now obviously we aren't eating the tree, well, if you have kids or pets you will need to take extra caution as a mom I know many things have made the way into my children's mouths, duh, they are in an oral phase until 2 years old and sometimes longer!
You can try to find an organic Christmas tree here you will see there are very few producers across the nation, so, what can you do?
Let the tree air out, at least for 2-3 days, this will actually help the branches fall as well, making for easier decorating
