It is expected that children will get germs that will cause colds and it is actually a good thing, building their immune resiliency later in life.

Allergies are a bit more touchy, is there any underlying gut dysbiosis or something else going on...
Now, what if your child has very frequent colds and allergies especially triggered in your home?
First, it is important to go to your MD to see if there is an underlying deficiency or something else going on...
If everything checks out, here are some steps you can take at home to help your child...
Reduce Indoor Allergens (this will help allergies and colds)
Indoor air filters like this one
Dust, it is important to dust 1x a week, especially if people have allergies in your home and if you have pets! This one is fun & looks like a carnival, wiping down with water is a must too!
Pillows should be washed 1x a month if you have allergies or post illness
Stuffed Animals, these bad fuzzies are a big culprit of holding dust, dirt and more, they should be washed 1x a month to reduce dust mite exposure! There are safer options that do not hold pathogens and dust as well, we love this one, this cute bunny and this pretty doll!
Cold & Seasonal/Indoor Allergy Support Ideas
For seasonal allergies we love D Hist Jr.
For Colds we love
Cold Crush, homeopathic support option
Immune support with elderberry, zinc & vitamin C like this gummy for kids!
This next one is easy, lots of WATER and teas, like nettle leaf (shown to be effective in cold & flu support)!
Focus on gut support and healing foods such as...
Bone Broth
Gelatin this is super easy to make homemade jello and to add to smoothies!
A quality probiotic, we love this comprehensive one
Nutrient Dense Foods
Raw Milk or Low-temp, non-homogenized, during cold or allergies dairy is better avoided as it can create more mucus! We love cocojune yogurt and MALK as great clean non-dairy options
Sprouted Nuts & Seeds, You can easily do this at home but a great brand we love their pumpkin seeds is here
Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Meats and Pasture-Raised Eggs
Fiber Rich Foods like Flax Seeds and Black Beans, we love this bean brand as they use kombu for lower gas!
Of course, organic fruits and vegetables, in cooler seasons aim for soups and stews to help support digestion! Costco has an oganic chicken bone broth that is the perfect base!
With the right diet, cleanliness practices and at times, supplement support your child's and family's allergy and cold season should hopefully be minimized!
Disclaimer: This is not medical advice and any and all supplements should be ran by your medical care team, it is important to maintain your children's care if they have allergies to find the root cause and frequent colds.
